What's an invitation, and why do I need one?

We're not in love with the invitation system, but it's the best we can manage for the moment.

Our software is pretty busy. While you search the internet looking for your next great doodad, our software is furiously hammering our store database looking for alternatives in your area. Even though it looks to you like it's doing nothing most of the time, that's because it hasn't found a match. 

All that searching puts a pretty big load on our servers. We want everyone to have the best possible experience so we're limiting access to our environment while we build it out to support more people. 

So for now we need to ask you, our potential future user, to take a number and hold your horses until we're better prepared for your traffic. We promise to make it worth your wait.

I put my name on your list. How long until I get my invite?

It's a bit tough to say. We're trying to roll it out on a first-come, first-served basis. Unfortunately the uptake from retailers has been a bit patchy, so if there aren't many participating stores in your area it's fairly pointless for you to occupy one of our early adopter slots. You won't see any benefit and we won't learn anything from your feedback.

What can I do to speed this process up?

If you haven't signed up yet, please do. We need to know what regions have the greatest potential so we can focus our efforts there. The same goes for your friends - if you know someone else who may be interested, please ask them to sign up as well. We have fairly limited resources so we're going to push into markets where there's the least resistance.
